pt. How we study the two infinities at CPPM
które wygłosi: prof. Eric Kajfasz, The Center for Particle Physics at Marseille, France (CPPM)
Streszczenie:
The Center for Particle Physics at Marseille, France (CPPM) is an experimental physics research lab the main research fields of which are Particle Physics, Astroparticle Physics and Observational Cosmology. It is an emanation of the IN2P3, the National Institute for Nuclear Physics and Particle Physics of the French CNRS, and of the Universite de la Mediterranee. I will describe the research and technological developments performed by the CPPM teams and the physics education we are involved in, hoping this could foster collaborations between our labs and Universities. To achieve our fundamental physics research goals we develop specific detectors and instrumentation that can also be used for pluridisciplinarity. One such use I will also elaborate on, is medical bio-imaging based on technology transfer from silicon hybrid pixel detectors developed for the ATLAS experiment at CERN. These technological transfers are upstream developments that are meant to be integrated in the context of CERIMED,a European Centre for Research in Medical Imaging being built in Marseille.
Serdecznie zapraszamy!
